A good friend of mine told me about this fabulous Mercedes, his boss wanted to sell. It was purchased brand new from a dealer in Detroit Michigan on June 26, 1987, for his Wife. Ironically, I purchased a 1975 Cadillac Eldorado convertible from this same person 35 years ago. I am a car guy and own several antique and classic cars, but usually foreign cars are not my thing. When my friend told me the car only had 60, 000 actual miles and that it was in excellent condition, I decided to have a look. I've always loved the looks of these Mercedes roadsters, but tend to favor brass era antiques and 50's classics. After seeing and driving this car, I bought it. It drives and handles like it's a new car. I have only put about 100 or so miles on it, taking it out for dinner and showing it our local car shows. The color is called blue black, but to me it looks like a dark grey metallic with a slight blue hue. The leather interior is a buckskin color. There is both the hard top, which has an excellent headliner and the soft top, which I have not raised from its storage position in the back. I did purchase a storage rack and cover for the hard top, which will go with the car. This Mercedes has new tires, which were installed about 9 months ago, but have only a few miles on them. Also there are chrome spoke wheels, instead of the stock ones. There is also new factory Mercedes script floor mats in the car and the old ones (good condition) are in the trunk and included in this sale. This car was Ziebart protected when the car was new (I have original receipt) and has zero rust. There is an original factory first aid kit in the trunk. This car has the upholstered rear seats with belts. I don' t know whether that was an optional item. The engine is 5.6 liter V-8 with fuel injection. Dash board is beautiful with no cracking or warping. Mechanically this Mercedes is in excellent condition and drives and handles like its a new car. Steering wheel is covered in leather.
